Event basics

What is the venue like?

Waitangi Park is the iconic waterfront park in the heart of Wellington CBD — an open-air, two-stage waterfront festival site with world-class production, food, bars, and views over the harbour.

Is High Tide R18?

Yes. Strictly R18+, no exceptions. Valid photo ID is required at entry: NZ driver licence, passport, or Kiwi Access card. Overseas IDs must be a passport.

What time does the festival run?

Gates open at 12:30PM and the festival runs until 10:30PM. Get there early — the lineup goes hard from the moment gates open.

When and where is High Tide 2026?

Saturday 7 November 2026 at Waitangi Park, Wellington CBD.

Tickets

Can I resell my ticket?

If an official resale window is opened by the promoters closer to the event, we will announce it via socials and the newsletter, using only the official face-value resale channel we provide. We do not recognise tickets purchased through third-party resellers such as Viagogo and cannot guarantee entry for tickets bought outside official channels.

Can I get a refund?

Tickets are non-refundable except where required by the Consumer Guarantees Act or if the event is cancelled or rescheduled. Refund policy is set by our ticketing partner (Flicket) and is included in the terms at point of purchase.

What is included with VIP?

VIP includes a dedicated fast-track entry lane, premium restroom facilities, a private bar with premium drink options, covered lounge areas, premium food platters, and access to an exclusive VIP-only food truck. VIP is limited and typically sells out well before the event.

What ticket types are available?

General Admission (GA), and VIP. GA releases in tiers — Early Birds → First Release → Second Release → Third Release → Fourth Release → Final Release — with each tier priced higher than the last.

When do tickets go on sale?

7:00 PM NZT Wednesday 12/08/2026 on-sale time

On The day

Do you have a harm reduction or welfare team?

Yes. Trained welfare staff are on-site throughout the day. If you or a friend need help, look for a hi-vis welfare team member or head to the info tent.

Will there be food and drink?

Yes — a curated selection of Wellington food vendors and multiple bars across the site, including the VIP-only premium bar and the exclusive VIP food truck.

Card or cash?

High Tide is primarily a card-based festival — all bars and most vendors take card and mobile payment. Cash is also accepted. There is no ATM on site, so bring what you need.

Is there re-entry?

No — once you leave the site, you cannot re-enter. Plan your day accordingly.

Is there a bag policy?

Small bags and clutches are fine. Larger bags will be searched at the gate and may not be permitted. Bag size limits will be confirmed closer to the event.

What am I not allowed to bring?

No outside food or drink, no glass, no illicit substances, no weapons, no professional cameras (phones fine), no flags on poles, no umbrellas, no chairs. A full prohibited items list will be published closer to the event and available at the gate.

What should I bring?

Your ticket (mobile is fine), valid photo ID, sunscreen, and a card for buying drinks and food. A small amount of cash is also useful — we accept both.

Getting there

Where should I stay?

The whole CBD is walking distance to the site. Book early — Wellington fills up over the summer weekends. Accommodation partners and any exclusive rates will be announced on our socials and in the pre-reg newsletter.

What about after the festival?

Ride-share pickup zones and taxi ranks will be signposted. Last trains and late buses run from the CBD — check Metlink for the timetable closest to the event date.

Is there parking?

There is no dedicated festival parking. Public paid parking is available around the CBD but limited on a Saturday. We strongly recommend public transport, walking, or ride-share.

What is the best way to get there?

Walk, public transport, or ride-share. Waitangi Park is under a 10 minute walk from Courtenay Place and around 15 minutes from Wellington Railway Station. Metlink buses and trains run into the CBD from across the region.

Where exactly is Waitangi Park?

Waitangi Park sits on the Wellington CBD waterfront, a short walk from Courtenay Place, Te Papa, and the main hotel district.

Accessiblity

Is there an accessible viewing platform?

Yes, there will be an accessible viewing platform at the main stage. Please let us know in advance so we can look after you on the day.
